For my PhD, I studied the biodiversity, systematics and biogeography of the oak gall wasps (Cynipidae) on the five native oak species in Israel. I developed keys for the identification of all Israeli species based on their host associations and gall morphologies and studied their life history and distribution patterns.
I also examined whether habitat fragmentation influences the community structure of gall wasps on the Thabor oak (Quercus ithaburensis) and whether species richness is correlated with oak fragment size.
