I study the Ecology and behavior of the little fire ant (Wasmannia auropunctata), one of the world's 100 worst invasive alien species (IUNC). The little fire ant invaded Israel in the late 1990's, and since then has been causing damage to economy, tourism and recreation activities, displacing local species, and is a common pest in many households around Israel. I study the genetics, foraging and in-nest behavior of the ant in Israel, and the use of toxic baits against it in order to provide insight that could improve control protocols and curb further spread of the ant in the country.
